Muesli is fast and easy to make and stores well.
Best Ever Muesli Ingredients
2 cups rolled oats 1 cup walnut halves or pieces 1 cup dried cranberries 1 cup dried blueberries 1 cup dried unsweetened coconut flakes 1 cup gluten-free breakfast cereal flakes
Directions
Stir thoroughly and store in an airtight container
To eat – pour 1 cup muesli mix into a bowl, add 1/4 cup grated apple, banana slices or any fresh fruit you’d like and top with yogurt or your favourite dairy or non-dairy milk
As an added nutritional bonus, sprinkle 2 tablespoons of chia seeds on your muesli and receive a dose of omega 3 fats!
Notes and Substitutions:
Go organic if you can!
Cereal flakes add crunch to your muesli, but aren’t essential to the mix. Nature's Path Mesa Sunrise is a nice gluten-free cereal.
Nuts – feel free to substitute walnuts for any other nuts, almonds are awesome, but keep in mind that nuts like peanuts and cashews have a high caloric count so stick to one bowl per day of this yummy breakfast
Dried fruit – try to find unsweetened dried fruit. If you can’t, look for naturally sweetened
